This branch of I-69 is generally viewed as the most likely to receive an actual I-69 designation. From Laredo, I-69 is likely to follow the U.S. 59 corridor to the northeast, meeting the McAllen branch near I-37 at George West. From there, I-69 will continue northeast to Victoria.
